Delivering an authentic rich sound, while expressing their deeply held conviction to the heartbeat of today’s worship, you will find The Dave Herring Band. Good news for worshipers. . . this band is not just a typical worship band, but delivers all-enveloping, God-honoring, power-filled moments of worship. . . every time.
Steve (guitar): What made you decide that you wanted to be a part of Best Life’s band? Where’d you get your fabulous antique suitcase?
Ultimately the reason I wanted to be a part of the Best Life ministries worship band is because I hunger for worship. Not just playing music! Not just worshiping through music! But offering God that which is already His! Being in a music ministry with others who share my love for Jesus and leading God’s people in songs of adoration is about as incredible as this life gets!
I got my fabulous antique suitcase from a garage sale. I keep my eyes open for them because I like to turn them into amplifiers with character!
Jake (drums): What’s your favorite song that you love to play in our conferences? What makes you want to drum?
I really like all the songs we play, especially the up more up-beat ones, mostly because I can really get into them. I absolutely love to just sit back behind the drums and worship God. There’s nothing better in life. It’s not about being a rockstar, it’s about providing the worship atmosphere. It’s what drives me to play.
Jesse (bass/vocals): How long have you been playing bass? What did you like about the Bethel Conference?
About three years now. My father-in-law handed me a bass and said he expected me to know something on it the next time he saw me! I really enjoyed how into the worship everyone got – there was a lot of love in that room.
Jim (keys): What’s your favorite part of leading worship with Dave and the band?
My favorite part of leading worship with Dave… I enjoy seeing people connect to the reality of Jesus Christ through praise and worship… I also enjoy being used by the Holy Spirit to help create an environment where the Spirit of God can authentically change lives.
Dave (guitar/lead vocals): How long have you been a worship leader? What’s your favorite thing about leading worship for the Best Life Conferences?
I’ve been a worship leader since high school, but began being a worship pastor in 2004. My favorite thing about leading worship for Best Life is stripping away all the ‘expectations’ of worship and simply coming together with people of like-minded faith in Jesus to freely worship. When we worship in Best Life, it’s not about what church background you’re from, or even the mindset of worship you may have. It’s about letting go, being real, and being the person God made you to be.
