After School Snack~ Caramel Crunch


8 cups Rice Chex

8 cups pretzels

1 can spanish peanuts

2 cups packed brown sugar

1 cup butter

1/2 cup corn syrup

1/2 t. baking soda

Mix cereal, pretzels and peanuts.

In a saucepan, bring sugar, butter and corn syrup to a boil.  Boil for 1 1/2 minutes, stirring constantly.  Remove from heat and mix in baking soda.  Pour brown sugar over cereal and mix well.  Place coated cereal on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.  Stir every 4 minutes.  Spread out to cool.  Store in air tight container.
